Sometimes You Look Back
JUST TO REALIZE HOW FAR YOU'VE COME
Since the inception of The DML Conspiracy in 2019, I have always tried to keep things moving forward.
I am organized just enough to have a system in place for doing all the things that I do. That includes writing, recording, releasing new music, and promoting the new releases.
Of course, organizing musicians is like herding cats. It is not a simple task. The struggle is real. But along the way, I have enjoyed various mutations and versions of this band.
Different musicians bring different styles and influence to the music. As a result, you can hear the changes in musical styles from song release to song release.
In my mad quest to keep pushing forward, I sometimes neglect to look back and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
I have recently had an opportunity to reflect on the music that has been released, and it brought a smile to my face.
So many memories of the songwriting and recording processes. The laughs, disagreements, collaborations, and arguments shared along the way. But all in the name of writing the ever-elusive perfect song.
I have yet to write the perfect song, but I am not done writing songs. So the journey continues.
